Part 2 of Hank's trip to Desolation Sound.

Lots of bald headed eagles
As as said they motored all the way up to Desolation Sound, non stop. Jason, David and Hank to turns at the helm, allowing the others to sleep. By overlapping each others time by two hours, we could sleep for 4 hours straight. This proved to be a good situation.

July 23 2013 - Trip to Desolation Sound (10 day vacation for Hank)... Part 1

Well this is a first! Hank is now posting an adventure that HE went to, WITHOUT ME!

9:00 pm - sunset - motoring to Lund
My sailboat friend Lopeka, owned by Jason Bowman, took Hank to Desolation Sound. I always wanted to take Hank there, but due to his heart recovery, he would not be able to handle my sails, so he went with friends on "Lopeka". At least I have the photographs to post HIS adventure.

He took little Tarkie along, my sun/rain cover and a few other odds and sods.

They left me on Friday 5:00 pm July 12, 2013... returning on July 22, 2013. I sat here for 10 days, waiting for his return!

Arriving in Lund at 8:00am
I understand the trip was mainly motoring as the winds were little to none.

Picked up food and coffee

July 04 2013 - Girls nights out

Good day all!
This is my home marina (Sewell) - at Horseshoe bay
New adventure for the last two days... I was used as a "hotel" at Snug Cove! Caroline has her niece Lauren over from Ottawa for a two week vacation. Part of that time consists of me being used as a hotel over in Snug Cove (where else eh!).

First day... Skipper in training, Lauren helped Hank take me over to Snug cove... great weather to say the least... We arrived safely, settled into... where else... A7 slip. While I was waiting around doing nothing, the crew departed for food and drink.

That evening Hank left for home on the ferry, giving the girls one and one time together.

Next morning Hank came back, reading me to take the girls on an afternoon sail. Well sail it was... just past Passage Island the winds picked up to around 15- 20 knots; perfect sailing for me!... but a little too  much wind and wave for the girls. Lauren did really well learning how to handle me in these conditions. She turned me around without problem, heading us back into calmer waters.

now "Skipper" Lauren
We sailed to Hood Point, where Lauren practice a man-over-board procedure. Did very well! She turned me around again, and headed back to Snug Cove. The sailing was great going back. Hank took over the controls, allowing Lauren to explore my bow seat... looking good eh!

That evening, again, Hank took for home via the ferry, returning the following day. We set sailed for home, as the girls were going to an art showing in Vancouver.
